It was on and off raining all Sunday afternoon, which meant dramatic complex skies at evening. I had to take a detour down this road earlier and discovered there is a fishing pull off I didn’t know about, with a wide open view across the neighboring farms – and big open sky. So I knew I wanted to come back and give it a shot.
Very pleased with how this painting turned out. I find that if I’ve been working on a painting in the studio a bunch recently the practice makes me much better when I get out to start a new piece. And on top of that, the feeling of going from detailed finish work back to creation is very gratifying.
